Biography

Fueled with a passion to see people encounter the love of the Father, Cory Asbury is a songwriter, singer, speaker, author and worship leader who joined the Bethel Music Collective in May of 2015. Cory began leading worship at his local church at age fourteen, and from there launched into fulltime worship ministry at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City in 2005, until he joined the Bethel Music Collective. Cory is known for his hit single “Reckless Love” inspired by Cory’s journey of discovering the Father’s heart through the birth of his first son and the near-loss of his first daughter. The song was nominated for a Grammy in 2019 after winning two GMA Dove Awards and two K-Love Fan Awards in 2018. His album by the same name hit the top of the charts as Billboard’s #1 Christian Album and won a GMA Dove Award for Worship Album of the Year in 2018. Cory has also received three Billboard Music nominations for Top Christian Artist, Top Christian Album and Top Christian Song of the year. After taking a year off to rest with his family in 2019, Cory is back on the scene with new projects, songs, and a deeper revelation of the Father’s heart. His newest single “The Father’s House” paints a picture of the delight and freedom that is found when we enter the Father’s house and portrays the deep message of identity and sonship in a fun and energetic way. After seeing the impact of “Reckless Love” on listeners around the world, Cory teamed up with Tori Kelly to release “Reckless Love” as a remix with a new, fresh sound in January 2020. Cory also published a devotional for discovering the Father’s heart called Reckless Love that is full of personal stories behind the song. Cory can be found on Bethel Music albums VICTORY (2019) with his song “Endless Hallelujah,” Bethel Music en Español (2019) with “Incontrolable Amor,” and Have It All (2016) with “Son of God.” His first solo album, Let Me See Your Eyes (2009) includes well-known songs “Where I Belong,” “So Good to Me,” and “Jesus, Let Me See Your Eyes.” Cory and his family live in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he serves as a worship pastor and artist in residence. Cory and his wife Anna have four beautiful children—Gabriel, Lily, River, and Willow-Grace.
